KBYC Junior Sailing Team potential and returning members

For:  Sailors with an interest in competive sailing who have taken basic instruction and can sail upwind well.  We can offer private or semi-private lessons for those who need to practice sailing upwind. 

Fleets:  Sailors are divided into beginning and advanced racers when required

Dates:  Practices are Wednesdays afterschool 4:00-6:00 pm or dark (recommended but optional) and Sunday from 10:00 am-4:00 pm.  The season begins on January 3 and ends April 18 for Spring Race team and the Fall race team is from September-December.  There is no practice During President's Day weekend.  There is also no practice during the weekends that our team will be travelling to away regattas.  Away regattas are encouraged but not mandatory.

Fees:  Includes 4 months of practices and coaching at away regattas.    A boat usage fee is required for sailors who don't have their own boats to maintain our new optis in top condition.  The fee includes all the replacement parts and repair for the boat you will use for the season (does include damage from negligent acts).  A small fee for boat transport to regattas is also required for those who will be using our trailer for transport.  You may transport your own boat at no charge.  Please let us know if you need to workout a payment plan.

Race Team-4 months practice + regattas:  $450 KBYC members, $550 non-members

Boat usage fee:  $100 Sept.-Dec., $100 Jan-April

Boat transport to away regattas:  $25 per regatta
