Our coaching philosophy is always to have fun and be safe.  Children also learn in a supportive environment, smaller class sizes and an emphasis on the individual needs of each student help foster success in our students.  In addition to group classes and race coaching, our staff provides private and semi-private instruction for adults and children.

Alejandro Tano
Youth sailing coach

Alejandro is a US Sailing level one certified instructor.  He has been sailing for over 10 years out of the Key Biscayne Yacht Club.  He started sailing at the age of eight at KBYC in the International Optimist Dinghy.  Additionally, he sailed 420’s and FJ’s in Interscholastic Sailing for Immaculata La Salle. Alejandro is the Co-founder of Immaculata La Salle high school sailing team which today is one of the top schools in the district. Alejandro has extensive experience working with children of all ages and abilities. He is a volunteer instructor at Shake-a Leg Miami for their after school program.   Alejandro has been instrumental in developing the Green Fleet program at KBYC.  His knowledge of sailing and the optimist pram is a true asset.

Stephanie Urban

Youth and Adult Sailing Instructor

Stephanie is a US Sailing Level one Certified instructor.  During summer camp, she is our London Foggies program leader.  She has been instrumental in developing our youngest salts into outstanding sailors.  Many of her sailors have moved on to joining our race team program.  Stephanie will assist with Ladies sailing and London Foggies this fall.
